Moscow International Automobile Exhibition “Motor Show / MIMS” finished its work last week – the show was held from 26 to 30 August at CrocusExpo. Motor Show is organised by ITE, the leading exhibition company in Russia in terms of the number of organised events. Automobile shows of ITE include AutoSib, the largest exhibition in Siberia, and Automechanika Moscow.
This year Motor Show has beaten the record of attendance. The number of registered visitors at the official website of the exhibition only achieved 27120 persons – this is slightly more than a half of the total number of guests (51200). MIMS caused special interest with the professionals of automotive business. According to an independent audit, more than 75% of the attendees were trade visitors.
As for exhibitors, the show was also a success: more than 600 companies including 40% of international participants got together at Motor Show. Motor Show participants included: Harbin Donfang, Higer Bus, BRISA, ĘŔĚŔ, Exedy Clutch, SCHAEFFLER (INA, FAG, LUK), Armtek, Motrodetal (Kostroma), Dayco, Exist, Kordoba, Sorokinstrument, Mannol, Zoom Energy, ZIC, Delfin Group, MUTLU, ŔĘÎĚ, Eurasia, TAV and many others.
Specialists of the industry marked the new business programme of Motor Show. The first conference within the exhibition (on 26 August) was run by Autotranstech company. International experts — Bill Henney, Alan Smith, Robbie Ferguson (ALTO), Scott Jackson (Sonnax) — shared their experience in the field of automatic transmission maintenance with their Russian colleagues.
On 27 August, speakers attended the 9th Moscow College of automotive engineering where they made a presentation on hydraulic converter repairs demonstrated special software for control and diagnostics system maintenance Can Bus.
At the same time, a press conference of Autounion company – Opening of a New Accumulator Plant in Russia – was run in exhibition pavilions of Motor Show. This was followed by Livi Car NPKF (major distributors of Johnson Controls Power Solutions products) speakers.
The new programme was joined by mass media representatives. Representatives of Kuzov publication held a round table dedicated to business conflict resolution – “Dispute resolution in calculating corrective maintenance costs”.
On 28 August, Eurasia company made a presentation on rebranding of the trademark of Titan accumulators. In spite of recession, the company is getting ready to enter a new level. And it will be no surprise, if, with such marketing approach, Eurasia significantly increases its presence in the market.
For experts and speakers Motor Show has become a discussion club, while for exhibitors the show turned out to be a major event of the industry. “Exhibition in Moscow is an all-Russian exhibition. And answering the question about where I will go, I can say – once a year to Moscow”, said Arkadiy Korshunov, a representative of Dyukon Holding (St. Petersburg).
Representatives of Exist.RU Internet shop characterized the exhibition as a place for meetings and negotiations with new partners. Armtek company believes that Motor Show is an opportunity to enter the market with presentation of the company and demonstrate the company’s potential to clients and suppliers.
Motor Show is, first of all, a trade event, a major B2B exhibition. The exhibition features tyres, oils, car equipment, spare parts and accessories.
This year Motor Show occupied Pavilion No. 1 (halls 1 – 4) and Pavilion No. 2 (halls 6 and 7) – total space of the exhibition was more than 27 000 sq m.
The new federal brand Kazyonka produced by Krystall Moscow Plant under the state control was the official sponsor of Motor Show 2009.
Autopanorama was the general information partner of the exhibition. Autotranstekh was the sponsor of the business programme of the exhibition.
The exhibition was run under the support of the State Duma of the RF, Ministry of Transport of the RF, Ministry of Transport of Moscow Region, Moscow City Duma, Moscow Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs and Moscow Association of Entrepreneurs.
According to Igor Levitin, Minister of Transport of RF, “Russian market of car accessories, spare parts and services today is a fast growing and large-scope sector of the national economy. Russia has become the largest European car market with increasing growth rates and volumes of automobile components, which is demonstrated at Motor Show exhibition”.
